Seoul is the capital and largest metropolis of South Korea. Seoul is also the centre of South Korea's business and birthplace of K-pop / Korean Wave. Each year, this city receives over 10 million international visitors, making the world's 9th most visited city.
Leeum Samsung Museum of Art
Both my friend and I are big fans of architectures, well, my friend herself is an architect. (It is always good to have a knowledgeable friend when travelling for art pieces :)) We both fell in love with the facade and surrounding neighbourhood of the Leeum Samsung facilities. I particularly liked the collaboration of raw concrete and hard wood material, beautiful harmony of modern and nature. From the inside, we admired its use of lines and natural lighting, again, adding natural elements into the piece, leaving me with clean and fresh senses. (disclaimer: I am not by all means a professional architect, these are just some opinion straight from my head)
The museum itself is built by three reknown international architects, Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel and Rem Koolhaas. Rem Koolhaas is the architect of the CCTV Building in Beijing. The facilities contained two museums, the Samsung Child Education and Cultural Centre houses contemporary art pieces and the second museum houses traditional Korean arts.

Gangnam
Gangnam is a high-rise district in the south of the river. In Gangnam, you will find yourselves surrounded by well-dressed and rich young people. There are up-scale boutiques, high-rise modern architectures and the giant underground COEX mall. According to statistic, Gangnam itself account for 10% of the land value of the entire country! If you are not up for high end boutiques, there are plenty of mid-range boutiques in Gangnam subway station.![]() |

Namsan
Namsan is one of the most famous mountains in Seoul. Although it is not as high as the surrounding mountains. It can be easily accessed from the centre of Seoul. In fact, it is only 10 minutes walk from the popular shopping district, Myeong Dong. Up in the mountain, there are the Aquarium, Seoul Tower and some nice restaurants. If you are going up with your loved one, you may also want to hang a love lock on the wire fence. Apart from touristy facilities, you may also enjoy a nice walk around the mountain. There are several walkaways that are very popular among local couples.
