If you happen to be in England, don't just spend all you time in London. There are many cities within few hours train proximity of London that are worth exploring, Oxford is one of them. Here is our guide to 48 hours in Oxford.

Day 1 - Arriving in Oxford / Explore the colleges

Getting to and from London is easy. Simply hop on a train at London Marylebone or London Paddington station for direct service. The journey itself will take you a little more than 1 hour. Oxford train station very close to city centre, just 10-15 minutes walk to city centre where there are many cute shops and restaurants. Assuming you leave London in the morning, you will arrive Oxford around Lunch time. Do fill you stomach and prepare yourself for rest of the day exploring all the colleges.

Oxford is best known for its university, but apart from visiting all the colleges, this city has so much more to offer. To get the most of your day, do plan your trip ahead!
1. College walking tour
2. Museum of Oxford
3. River Cherwell

Oxford is a spectacular city, apart from the usual destinations do wander around town aimlessly. You will find yourself in some beautiful alleyways away from tourist herds.

Day 2 - Blenheim Palace

Blenheim Palace is just few miles away from Oxford city centre. This is a very underrated attraction among tourist, which is not always a bad thing. Bit of advice, this palace is absolutely massive, do spare solid few hours to explore both inside the palace and its surrounding grounds (and its infamous maze).

Blenheim Palace is the birthplace of Winston Churchill. In this place, you will learn a lot about Churchill childhood and his family root. If you are not familiar with British history, you will still be able to enjoy the astounding architecture, interior and surrounding grounds of the palace. This palace was also featured in Hamlet movie!
