The Grand Hotel +The Grand Brighton   is a five star hotel currently operates by DeVere and is one of the landmarks of Brighton. It locates right along the beach at the heart of the city. Brighton was a popular vacation town back in Victorian era and the Grand was built for upper class. The building itself is a masterpiece. It is an Italian influenced Victorian architecture and it has the first lift built outside London. 

Brighton itself is a beautiful city and having studied somewhere near Brighton for several years, I have to say, The Grand is the best hotel in town! 

I have been to this hotel several times for different occasions. My first impression of this hotel was actually from my secondary school graduation prom. The ballroom was beautiful and luxurious and I felt like a princess. Since then, I had always wanted to spend a weekend in the hotel. Then finally two years ago, I stayed there for a weekend because I needed to visit some friends around the area. And last time I visited this hotel was last summer where I had an afternoon tea with my best friend, catching up and had some girly time.

Arriving

It locates right in front of the beach at the King's Road of Brighton. From Brighton (main station) train station to the hotel, I recommend getting a cab, which should cost you around GBP 5; or if you choose to walk, then it will take you approximately 20 minutes. 

Walking Distance 

Because my secondary school was near Brighton, so after graduation, I went back to visit friends so many times, and have stayed in many hotels and guest houses in town. And I have to say The Grand is the perfect hotel to stay in for visiting this area. Within 5 to 10 minutes you are at the heart of Brighton shopping, Churchill Square and the Lanes. Also, from the front door of the hotel, you can already see the reknown Brighton Pier. Furthermore, walking along King's road to the left of the hotel for 15 minutes, you will find yourself in the famous Pavilion. 

Getting around by public transport

Getting around by public transport is easy. Just opposite to the Brighton Wheel, there is a bus stop where you can travel to the Seven Sisters, South Downs and other tourist destinations in the Sussex county. The train station on the other hand is just 20 minutes walk or a few minutes taxi ride. 

We only stayed at the classic room, but it was very spacious and nicely decorated. It's a very warm and cozy decoration that makes you feel like home after a long day of travelling. And what I like the most about it is that modern facilities and vintage style are able to blend perfectly.

One word, superb!My friend was new to Brighton and she found the concierge very knowledgeable. Both check-in and check-out was fast and easy. 

I did not have dinner or lunch in the Grand but I did have breakfast and afternoon tea there. 

Breakfast

Breakfast was included in our room rate and I was surprised with the choice they had! It has both the buffet style and special menu for you to order. Food was delicious and service was excellent. 

Afternoon tea

For me, a perfect afternoon tea contains a few crucial elements, good food, beautiful environment and excellent service. And well done the Grand, you have checked all these boxes!
