My Mallorca Adventure

23:49

Majorca is a beautiful sun kissed island located at the east side of mainland Spain at the Mediterranean Ocean. Although the island is small, you will be surprise the number of activities and places to go. From ancient culture, beautiful beaches, remote villages, food tour and even hiking!

Palma de Majorca

Palma is the capital of Majorca and was founded in Roman times. It was once a very important habour for trading and naval watch. Today, this area is very popular with tourists for the sights, food and shopping.

Bellver Castle - This is a Gothic style castle located at the west side of Palma. This castle was once the King's residence and military prison. With the height of almost 120 metres from the ground, hiking up this castle will give you a stunning view of the island coastline.
Catherdral - Palma Cathedral is definitely the landmark of this island. Locating at the harbour front of the Mediterranean Sea, this is another Gothic style architecture on the island with 800 years of history.
Mercat de l'Oliver - We chose to come to Spain for holiday was partly because of the food. This market locates in the middle of Palma and is very famous with locals and tourists.

Valldemossa

If you have a little bit more time on this island. I highly recommend taking a day or two to the nearby town outside of the urban area, e.g. Valldemossa, Sollar and etc... This village is located at the Sierra de Tranmuntana mountain. This village which packed with traditional stone buildings and backed with incredible landscape was once home to the renown piano pieces composer, Chopin. No wonder his pieces are so beautiful!
