My Melbourne Adventure
07:44Melbourne has been rate the most livable city in the world for the past couple of years. After visiting it last year for the first time, I finally understand why... Melbourne is the second most populated city in Australia and has a high mix of international citizens. It is is a buzzling city at the doorstep of the great natural landscape of the Victorian state. There is so much to see in the city for all age group; from pretty botanic garden, local markets to dazzling nightlife.
Victoria Market
Victoria Market is a great way to experience Australian grocery shopping. From basic grocery, fresh meat, flowers, clothing, to souvenirs; this is a one stop shop for both locals and tourists.Urban Art - Hosier Lane
Melbourne is known for its street art, there are many streets in the city with vivid graffiti arts. One great thing I like about these streets is that they changes everyday with new pieces. Hosier Lane was the one I visited last time and it can be easily accessed from the city centre.Block Arcade
This is another landmark of the city. It was built in 1892 and is now filled with upscale retails, chocolate shops and cafes. Do look out for the special architectural details such as the dome and Hopetoun Tea House. The Royal Botanic Gardens
If you have been following my blog closely, you would realise how much I love visiting gardens. This is another botanic garden which I recommend. It is very peaceful and with a wealth of plantataions. Near the Melbourne Botanic Gardens, there are other sites including the Shrine of Remembrance, Kings Domain and Alexandra Gardens. This area is perfect for morning run, picnic or just strolling around.Brighton
You may be able to recognise this iconic view of Melbourne, the Brighton Beach. Brighton is an exclusive suburb area located at the south of Melbourne. With a 6 km coastline overlooking the city of Melbourne and Philip Port Bay, this town is served with diverse range of activities and shopping for all age group. My favourite activity has to be taking silly pictures with the colourful surfboard shades/ houses on the beach.Puffing Billy
If you are a fan of steam engine, you cannot miss this railway. Puffing Billy has over 100 years of history and is one of the most well preserved steam railway in the world. Climbing up hilly road and passing through fortress, this train ride guarantees multiple changes in beautiful natural landscape. The nightlife
Melbourne is not only the most livable city, it is also a city that never sleeps. From live music, up and coming bars and night market, Melbourne's nightlife will not let you down. The best thing is you can easily catch a public transport home and grab a great bite at the main street at 1a.m.Extended Reading
